SINCE 1991

The story of Picnic

At Picnic, we want to offer you food what you can eat with a clear conscience.

Which tastes good when you eat it, and feels good even after you’ve eaten it.

This conscience thing is such a small principle of a small business. The big ones save the world, we might save your day and that’s been our job since 1991.

It all starts with the ingredients

If you want to make good food, you need good ingredients. It’s simple as that. That’s why we use locally produced, domestic ingredients wherever it is possible.

  • Potatoes come from the West Coast
  • Salads from the Turku region
  • Coffee is roasted at Kaffa Roastery in Helsinki

Everything is done on the spot, with our own hands. When the truck comes through the back door in the morning, by the evening it’s transformed into salads, baked potatoes and smoothies that you can eat on the spot, order in advance or grab to go.

Just as important as how food is made is who you make it with. We are extremely careful about our partners.

We are so proud of a good partner that we want to stick their logos on our restaurants. Our front door glasses currently also feature the logo of our coffee supplier Kaffa Roastery.

Picnickers

And finally, we come to the most important thing, the food maker. Picnickers. More than 3,000 young people have got into work life and gone from there one potato, one baguette and one cinnamon bun at a time. Now some of them are in charge of their own Picnic restaurant. Working for us allows you to learn in a variety of ways and to progress in your career. Behind the counter, we are a team that cares and looks after each other. We try to make sure that the only thing that gets hot at work is the oven.
